Rec Record Goes To Cardiff In Rain
Fortress Rec was finally breached after more than 12 months when Cardiff Blues beat Bath 6-14 in the EDF Energy Cup. The wet and windy conditions may have been appalling but it didnt stop both teams from trying to play a good game of rugby and it was only after 80 minutes that Cardiff stretched their lead beyond three points.

Preview: Harlequins v Cardiff Blues
The 2nd round of matches in the Heineken Cup sees Harlequins at home to Cardiff Blues. Kick is at 15.30 as the match is being televised. Cardiff have had an excellent start in this years competition with a bonus point home win against Bristol, which has put them second in the pool table on points difference, behind Stade Francais. Saturday will see the second “Clash of Capital Cities” in a week.

Connacht facing up to the Blues
After a narrow loss against a weakened Glasgow last weekend, Connacht head to Cardiff as rank outsider to face a very strong Blues side on Friday night with kick off at 7.30pm. Gavin Duffy makes a welcome return to the team who again lose the on field leadership of Ireland A player Andrew Farley. John Muldoon takes the skippers armband tonight as first choice hooker Adrian Flavin misses out also.
